The School was founded on the 26th March 1956. A mud hut was put up as the first building. Sponsored by the Rural Development society. On the very first day only two children named H.T.Gunapala and Gnanathilaka were admitted to school as students. The teachers staff comprised only one teacher. He was Mr. R.R.D.Peiris The First Principal was Mr. W.L.Wijedasa Who came on 01.02.1957
